Air industry heavyweights British Airways and the British Airports Authority are co-sponsoring a unique journey that will allow passengers to visit the world from outer space.

The flights will take off from the heart of the Home Planet zone in the Millennium Dome at Greenwich, England.

The Dome will be opened on December 31, 1999, by the Queen and Prime Minister Tony Blair at a ceremony hosted by Bob Ayling -- BA's chief executive and chairman of New Millennium Experience Company.

The 213-foot wide Home Planet zone centres on a giant dome and is dominated by a floating model of the earth which is 39-feet in diameter.

Mr. Ayling said: "There's no place like home and our Home Planet zone will literally be out of this world.

"It is another example of British creativity and innovation at its best.''
