The BSX offers a unique listing opportunity for hi-tech stocks which are restricted to professional investors at a much earlier stage than domestic stock markets, the BSX said.

"NimsTec is the first hi-tech stock to realise the opportunity of being listed in Bermuda at such an early stage, and based on NimsTec's listing, we expect many more,'' BSX chief executive officer William Woods said.

"The listing of NimsTec will significantly raise the visibility and accessibility among international institutional investors. Listing on the BSX complements our choice of Bermuda as our international domicile and, at this stage, is a logical step in our growth, NimsTec chairman Dr. Jerry Nims said.

Investment in NimsTec on the BSX is subject to a $100,000 minimum.

The listing was sponsored by Bank of Butterfield subsidiary Butterfield Securities Ltd.

NimsTec produces its 3-D technology for amateur photographic and medical diagnostic markets as well as 3-D portrait cameras for professionals.

The company, established in 1996 to commercialise research from Dr. Nim's facility set up in 1970, also produces images for the commercial market such as Michael Jordan Space Jam and Star Wars images delivered to Sega.
