front of politicians after Cabinet Ministers complained they were not getting respect.

Police Commissioner Jean-Jacques Lemay revealed yesterday that a number of Ministers have contacted him because they do not believe they are being properly addressed by officers.

His announcement came the day after Transport Minister Dr. Ewart Brown revealed that Telecommunications Minister Renee Webb "has become exasperated with the lack of deference given to Government Ministers.

Mr. Lemay said officers were issued regular guidelines on how to interact with politicians and members of the public.

But he felt it necessary to remind them of how they behaved towards Cabinet Ministers because of feedback he had received.

Referring to complaints from Ms Webb about the way she was treated by officers, Mr. Lemay said yesterday: "She is right when she says Cabinet Ministers are entitled to have respect.

"And they are entitled to be addressed as Ministers and members of parliament. In some cases, its about doing what is right and behaving in a professional manner. I salute Cabinet Ministers because they are entitled to it.''
