Govt. moves to abolish annual voter registration
of the House of Assembly's summer session.
And the only item likely to be debated is the PLP's bill to abolish the annual registration of voters, together with associated legislation.
Government Whip Ottiwell Simmons said: "The abolition for annual registration for voters will make registration, and hopefully voting, much easier for qualified voters.'' Mr. Simmons said he had not been notified of any Ministerial statements to the House -- but did not rule them out after the long break.
The only other item on the order paper is a motion from UBP backbencher Trevor Moniz calling on the House to approve a report prepared for the Transport Ministry in a bid to cut down on vehicle pollution.
But Mr. Simmons said the item is likely to be carried over until a later date.
