From now on, non-Bermudian part-time cleaners will only be able to work at buildings specified when their permit is applied for or renewed.
Also, under the new rules announced by Labour and Home Affairs Minister the Hon. John Irving Pearman, renewals of permits as well as new applications will have to be advertised to ensure Bermudians are given a chance of jobs.
The Government move is the latest in a series aimed at tackling unemployment.
ALLEGED MURDERER IN COURT AGAIN MUR Alleged murderer in court again The alleged murderer of German tourist Miss Antja Herkommer, Leroy Burgess, appeared in Magistrates' Court for a two-week mention yesterday. Burgess, has been charged with the premeditated murder of Miss Herkommer. Her body was found at the Dockyard attraction on Good Friday.
