The index was dragged down by the trading lower of Bank of Bermuda, down 25 cents on a volume of 1,283 to $18.625 and the Bank of Butterfield, down 62.5 cents on a volume of 2,739 to close at $11.125.

Issues trading up included Bermuda Home, closing 25 cents higher at $7.75 on a volume of 7,889 and Argus Insurance, closing 25 cents higher at $11.00 on a trade of 130.

Trading unchanged were Belco, $19.75, 1,861 shares and Telco, 120 shares left the stock unchanged at $37.50.

Bank of Bda. 9% US$ notes were up 50 cents, with $74,000 face trading at $103.25.

The total value of trading on the Exchange was $224,544.
