during an altercation with another youth in Hamilton.

A Police spokesman said the investigation into the alleged incident -- which is said to have occurred around 10.45 p.m. on Wednesday -- was in its early stages and a 14-year-old boy was helping Police with their inquiries.

The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where yesterday he remained under observation in the Intensive Care Unit. His injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

NOT ALLOWED TO TRAVEL CTS DGS Not allowed to travel A local man facing charges of supplying his incarcerated mother with medication will not be able to go abroad with his sick wife who needs treatment overseas.

Kirk Roberts' defence lawyer Julian Hall, this week told Magistrate Edward King that his client's need to travel made it necessary to get the court matter he was facing dealt with promptly.

Roberts has been placed on the US stop list as a result of the charges and has been unable to accompany his sick wife when she goes for treatment there.

He was charged with supplying the controlled drug Lorazepam to a prison officer and his mother, Barbara Roberts last June.

The alleged incident took place while Mrs. Roberts was in Police custody during an Appeals Court hearing to have her 12-year prison sentence reduced.

The drug Lorazepam is a prescription medication used to treat anxiety and help sleep. Classified as a controlled drug in Bermuda and the US, a prescription is not needed for Lorazepam in many parts of Canada.

Roberts was set to have a long form preliminary inquiry (LFPI), but proceedings were halted as Crown counsel Lesley Basden had only prepared for a short form preliminary inquiry (SFPI).
