halted on Wednesday when his lawyer asked for Magistrate Edward King to be removed from the case.

Vaughan Sinclair Edwards, 28, of Happy Valley Road, Pembroke was arrested in Pembroke on March 23.

But his lawyer Larry Mussenden said there was a danger of bias if Mr. King did the trial because Mr. Edwards had been jailed for threatening Mr. King outside the Bank of Butterfield on August 28, 1998.

Mr. King said he had never testified when Edwards was jailed for intimidation and that he didn't even know the case had gone to court. The prosecution will make submissions on May 18.
