Twenty-two-year-old Jerusha Thacker, Mount Hope Lane, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to the charge of driving while impaired, but told the court she had been unable to give a full breath sample.

Police Prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant said Police saw Thacker almost hit an island in the road as she drove at Crow Lane, Devonshire around 3.30 a.m. on June 30.

Sgt. Grant said when Thacker was taken to the Hamilton Police Station to have her breath tested for alcohol, she said she was having difficulty breathing and did not supply enough breath to complete the test.

She was subsequently taken to King Edward VII Memorial by Police.

But Senior Magistrate Will Francis yesterday ordered Thacker to pay a $350 fine for impaired driving and disqualified her from all motor vehicles for a year.
