Lawyer's writ is discontinued
against Paul Hubbard, John Boden and Francine Ryan has been discontinued.
The news came a fortnight after Mr. Hubbard and Mr. Boden won a lawsuit in Bermuda's Supreme Court for $1.6 million against Mr. Hall.
Mr. Hall's discontinued writ and Mr. Hubbard's and Mr. Boden's victorious case both involved Betty McMahon, the widow of Canadian millionaire Frank McMahon, who died in 1986 at the age of 83 in his Harbour Road, Paget home.
Mr. Hubbard and Mr. Boden won the lawsuit against Mr. Hall while acting "as next friends'' of Mrs. McMahon.
Mr. Hall was ordered to pay the full amount filed in the writ -- $1,609,740.63 -- plus simple interest at seven percent by Chief Justice Austin Ward.
Accountants Mr. Hubbard and Mr. Boden are believed to be receivers for the McMahon estate.
