birthday this week by announcing he will be running for Mayor of Hamilton.
And he told The Royal Gazette he intends to make traffic issues his number-one priority if elected five months from now.
Key is his proposal to close in the Washington Street bus stops to riders only, keeping loiterers away by fixing turnstiles at each end; the bus facility will be closed off to all other traffic. He also proposes to make Cedar Avenue a two-way street.
In addition he would crackdown on drivers who double park on Hamilton streets, and on people who leave trash at the kerb outside regulated hours.
Mr. Spanswick also said if elected he would organise a small Police force for Hamilton.
