third trip around the world.
Kate Huntington, who graduated from Mount St. Agnes in 1990, was killed north of New Delhi on Tuesday.
Last night the 29-year-old's stunned parents -- who live in Pembroke -- paid tribute to their daughter.
Mr. Terry Huntington described her as "a friendly and outgoing person who in her short life made more friends than I have made in my 61 years''.
"She was Canadian but she came here at 13 and thought of Bermuda as home,'' Mr. Huntington added. "She had many friends here and was active in Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society.
"She was a free spirit who loved to travel -- this was her third round the world trip and second trip to India.'' His daughter also spent time in Korea, teaching English and gaining work experience.
Mr. Huntington and his wife, Barbara, were informed of the tragedy by the Canadian High Commission responsible for Bermuda. Ms Huntington is also survived by a brother and sister. She will be cremated in India and her ashes brought back to Bermuda.
