BIU softens

Government-organised conference on employment, declaring that while it would not officially participate in this weekend's Open Spaces Technology workshop, its members were free to attend if they so desired.
"We don't mind being involved with any solutions (to come out of the conference),'' BIU President Derrick Burgess said yesterday. "And as far as the conference is concerned it should go on. We won't have a presence there but we're not stopping anyone from attending.'' The conference -- organised by the Ministry of Labour's training branch -- opens this morning at Pier 6 on Front Street in Hamilton.
