in the year to November 12 had increased over the same period last year. They have decreased -- by 6.9 percent for air arrivals, 2.3 percent for sea arrivals and 5.5 percent for total arrivals.

Bermuda saw nearly 1,800 more visitor arrivals last week than it did in the same period of 1994.

Some 8,155 people -- or 13.2 percent more than the 7,206 who came to the Island by air last year -- were on Bermuda-bound flights between November 6 and 12.

The 1,266-passenger cruise ship Maasdam brought a further 841 people to Bermuda, compared with no sea arrivals during the same week in 1994.

Those figures, which also incorporate two arrivals who fell under the "air and sea'' category, represent an increase of 1,792 people or 24.9 percent more than the same week of 1994, from 7,206 arrivals last year to 8,998 last week.

In the 111 months to November 12, meanwhile, some 357,665 people or 6.9 percent more than 384,148 who arrived by air last year flew in to Bermuda.

Nearly 169,000 cruise ship visitors or 2.3 percent more than the 172,865 who came to Bermuda by sea in 1994 also arrived by ship, contributing to a total of 527,301 arrivals or 5.5 percent more than the 558,259 visitors that Bermuda saw during the same period last year.
