MP Butler appointed to BF&M board
insurance firm BF&M, the company announced yesterday.
Board chairman Lt. Col. Michael Darling said: "His background as educator, historian, publisher and involved community member will bring a new perspective to our board and we're looking forward to the contribution he will make to our deliberations in the years to come.'' Company president Glenn Titterton added that Mr. Butler was asked to fill a vacant spot on the board after the firm's recent agm.
Mr. Titterton said: "He brings a very different background which will add a bit of diversity to the people we have on the board. His background is not your typical business background -- he is a Parliamentarian and we're looking to diversify the board, particularly in terms of the type of experience board members bring to their deliberations.'' Mr. Butler -- one of the MPs for Warwick East -- had to resign from his job as headmaster of Northlands Primary School in order to take his seat in the House of Assembly.
