tonight after dozens of parking tickets were issued by Police last Friday.

Cars are banned from Lower Reid Street and Queen Street between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. tonight to cut back on traffic during Christmas late night shopping.

Secretary of the Corporation of Hamilton Roger Sherratt issued a warning to drivers weeks ago, but said it seemed dozens of people had forgotten.

"Last Friday, Police handed out quite a few dozen tickets to vehicles that had been left there,'' he said.

Vehicles will also be banned in Court Street tonight between the junctions of Elliott Street and Dundonald Street.

The annual Court Street Festival will be taking place between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. with entertainment and shopping.

The music and dance performances will take place from 7 p.m. and making an appearance will be the Bermuda Regiment Band.

And on a sad note, the annual Hamilton Christmas Concert has been cancelled this year.

It was due to take place last Sunday in Victoria Park, but was cancelled because of the weather.

Mr. Sherratt said he hoped the concert could be re-scheduled for this coming Sunday.
