Spokesman P.c. Gary Venning revealed that Police had detained a 29-year-old Warwick man in the Spice Hill Road area following the incident on Tuesday.

A 60-year-old taxi driver told Police a male passenger ordered him to stop on Westmount Lane, off Spice Hill Road around 4 p.m. that day and tried to snatch his money.

A brief struggle occurred and the passenger escaped on foot with an undisclosed amount cash.

The driver was not injured, but he sustained some damage to his clothing.

P.c. Venning said inquiries into the incident were continuing.

The robbery was fourth attack on a taxi driver in the last two weeks.
