share his message of "cultural flexibility''.

Mr. Thomas Watson Jr. was invited to the Island by Berkeley Institute Board of Governors chairman Mr. Terry Lister.

The internationally-known writer, lecturer, storyteller left his job as Chairman and Chief Executive of accounting and consulting firm, Watson Rice and Company two years ago to begin a mission.

That mission, he explained yesterday, is to make people culturally flexible so they can survive and thrive in the age of information and technology.

Mr. Watson, who will talk with students at Berkeley Institute and Warwick Secondary today, described cultural flexibility as a mental habit of working with people different from one's self with the aim of accepting and respecting their differences.

Mr. Watson will be the guest speaker at Berkeley's $100-a-plate black tie banquet tomorrow at The Princess. The event will raise funds for the high school.
