Nineteen-year-old Lorenzo Robinson, of North Shore Road, Pembroke was charged with importing and possessing explosives without a licence.
Crown counsel Veronica Daley said Robinson was stopped at the airport on October 4 with fireworks. But he did not have permission to have them.
He was also charged with importing ammunition. He was found with 102 rounds of REM .22 bullets.
Yesterday when asked to enter a plea, Robinson refused, stating: "This is all lies there!'' He further elected to be tried in the Supreme Court, instead of Magistrates' Court.
