Police responded to a report of the fight at a Paget nightclub -- believed to be the Elbow Beach staff club -- at about 3.30 a.m.

The local men left the premises when club security officers were called.

Meanwhile the visitors were taken to hospital, where one of them was treated for facial injuries received in the fight.

Police inquiries into the incident were continuing.
