Bromby makes his mark
the European Spring Championship Regatta for Star boats.
Eighth and fifth-place finishes in the final pair of races yesterday guaranteed the Bermudian the runner-up position and established him as a force in Europe.
"It's a sign of good times,'' said Bromby, from his temporary residence in Tutzing, Germany. "It was our second second-place finish in a major regatta and it's just a matter of time before we win the big one.'' Bromby had high praise for crew Lee White noting how the pair has continued to develop as a team.
"Lee did a first class job,'' said Bromby. "We just keep getting better and better as we work together.'' One aspect Bromby said he could have done without were the frigid conditions at Lake Starnberg, where temperatures dropped below 40 degrees.
Once again the winds were quite shifty, but that is where Bromby is known to shine and the week's results certainly bore that fact.
Bromby is scheduled to return home today.
PETER BROMBY.
