Suspect escapes Police custody
Police investigation into a case of drug importation develops.
And two local men were arrested separately at the Airport in connection with the Misuse of Drugs Act later Wednesday night.
Minors, 31, of St. George's, was arrested on Tuesday at the Airport and was released in just under 24 hours.
A Police spokesman yesterday denied reports that others had been arrested with Minors on Tuesday night.
Wednesday night's arrests of a 50-year-old St. George's man and a 25-year-old Devonshire man kept Airport Immigration, Customs and Police officers busy as residents returned from the holidays.
The St. George's man was released on Police bail while the younger man was being held for questioning.
The younger man escaped from Police custody at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital later on Wednesday night but was recaptured in Warwick yesterday afternoon.
They were arrested at different times on Wednesday evening after arriving on different flights.
The older man was arrested by Police at 7 p.m. while the younger man was arrested around 9.30 p.m.
