New branch chairman David Summers, who replaced Madeleine Daisley, said a meeting this week had confirmed the two as the area's choice without a vote.

But he said: "I do have to make some changes and get on with the job.'' Neighbouring Warwick West has yet to hold a meeting to decide on its future course.

UBP heavyweight Quinton Edness ended up on the ropes and running mate, ex-Senator Yvette Swan also lost out.
