early yesterday morning.

The woman said that she was waiting for a ride outside the Mid-Atlantic Boat Club on North Shore Road in Devonshire shortly after 3 a.m. when the attack happened.

The attacker approached her and apparently asked for a lift.

When she refused the man became agitated and allegedly punched her several times in the mouth, causing a serious cut to her lip.

She later attended King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where she received stitches to close the wound.

Police are making inquiries.
