tipped over the edge of a cliff while they were installing equipment.

The incident, which occurred on Glebe Road, had workers thanking their blessings that no one was hurt.

One Belco employee said he was beneath the truck when he saw the accident happen.

"I was sitting eating my lunch when I saw the outriggers go down to stabilise the truck,'' he said. "Next thing I knew, I saw the bank just give way.'' Belco employees said they needed the truck to be in position to install a series of stay wires, but the weight of the truck was too much.

Belco spokeswoman Robin Sidders said she was thankful that no one was hurt in the incident "because we normally have people working alongside the truck''.

Workers noted that the weak and unsupported embankment was the reason for the give way.

Ms Sidders said the area's residents faced being without power until the truck was removed because surrounding wires had to be secured in order to allow a crane to come in and lift it out.
