BIBA appoints marketing manager
International Business Association.
For the past six years, Ms Davis has worked as manager of communications at the Department of Tourism.
Her position entailed close involvement with the development of overseas advertising, research and direct mail programmes, as well as the production of films and audio-visual presentations.
BIBA's marketing committee chairman, Mr. Gregory Haycock, said her new responsibilities would include helping the organisation to develop a world-wide marketing plan for Bermuda's international business industry.
This will involve liaising with the heads of various BIBA task forces which have been working with Government during the past two years and with the Action Teams which are currently implementing task force proposals.
Ms Davis will provide the necessary staff services to support the marketing plan, including briefing and co-ordinating work by public and media relations consultants.
She will also help to identify new products for the industry and assist in their development and launch.
A key area of her responsibilities will be to co-ordinate Bermuda's representation at major events relating to international business.
Mr. Haycock said: "The appointment of a marketing manager is the logical next step towards BIBA's plan to establish a clear and consistent image of Bermuda as the premier choice for international business.
"Ms Davis' experience in marketing Bermuda overseas provides a valuable base upon which to develop BIBA's marketing efforts.'' Ms Davis is due to take up her new post on October 25, 1993. PHOTO Ms Wendy Davis.
