Mail sent to Bermuda from Canada will be re-routed through the Caribbean, possibly leading to delays.Canada Post recently awarded a delivery contract to FedEx for its outbound international letter mail and parcels.According to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry mail from Canada to Bermuda will be delivered to FedEx’s Caribbean base before being re-routed to the Island. The change is effective immediately.In the past, mail and parcels from Canada were delivered on commercial airlines.A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Post Office said: “We apologise to the public for any delays resulting from these changes in the Canadian mail delivery service and will continue to work with Canada Post and FedEx to ensure the efficient transport and timely delivery of mail to Bermuda.”
