Yacht Never Enough forced to turn back

A yacht that suffered mast damage off the coast of Bermuda was towed on the last leg of its route to safety when its engine failed just off St. George's.

The 28-foot sailboat Never Enough set sail for Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands on Saturday.

At 6 p.m on Sunday the crew radioed Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre saying the vessel was 30 miles off Bermuda, having suffered severe mast damage.

A duty officer at the centre said yesterday he had no information on how the problem befell the yacht, which was being sailed by an experienced two-man crew.

Never Enough made it back almost all the way to the Island under engine power before it cut out at Spit Buoy, just off St. George's.

A pilot brought the yacht the rest of the way in, and it arrived at 7 a.m yesterday.
