Validus Reinsurance Ltd. has received a financial strength rating (FSR) of A- (excellent) and an issuer credit rating (ICR) of a- from AM Best Co.

Concurrently, the ratings agency has also affirmed the ICR of bbb- on Validus Holdings Ltd.

These rating actions follow the Bermuda-based company's closing of the acquisition of Talbot Holdings, which took place at the beginning of July, as well as Validus' completion of its capital-raising initiatives.
