A couple staying at a Southampton guest property told Police they left their sliding glass door slightly ajar before going to bed on Monday night.

At 5.30 a.m. the next day the wife noticed the closet door open. Upon checking the safe in the closet, she discovered jewellery, cash, and personal documents had been stolen.

Some of the items were later recovered.

Jewellery was also stolen from another room at the guest property. The occupants noticed the drapes which they had left closed were slightly open.

THIEVES ROB STUDENTS CRM Thieves rob students A group of students preyed upon two Saltus students and stole money from them in Par-la-Ville Park.

Police said the incident was the seventh of similar reports they had received.

RACIAL SLUR DENIED CTS DIS Racial slur denied A Smith's man will be tried in Magistrates' Court in May for using offensive words and racial harassment on New Years Day.

Kendall Neil Thompson, 32, pleaded not guilty to using offensive words, behaving in a threatening manner and possessing a machete -- an offensive weapon.

He was also charged with racially harassing Carol Vincent. All the offences are alleged to have occurred on Peet Point Lane, Smith's, on January 1.

Magistrate Edward King set a trial for May 26 and ordered Thompson released on $1,000 bail.
