BELCO Holdings was the big gainer in a interesting week's trading on the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX).

Its share value soared $1.45 (9.23 percent) to close at $21.50, with 2,334 shares being traded.

Other big traders included Bermuda Aviation Services, its share price rose $1.30 (7.23 percent) to finish on $15. A total of 1,000 shares changed hands.

The biggest losers were Butterfield Bank and BF&M, with their shares declining 20 cents (0.95 percent) and 25 cents (1.35 percent) respectively for closing values of $20.95 and $18.25.

Overall the Index was up 11,200 points (0.21 percent), finishing at 5,268.20, with 127,697 shares worth $2,490,501.25 traded.

The BSX Insurance Index, meanwhile, finished on 1,202.18 compared to 1,234.54 last week.
