Stocks up on stronger ultilities

The utilities sector saw the biggest movers and shakers on the Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.

Belco Holdings Ltd. and KeyTech Ltd. both experienced significant increases in their share price, going up 80 cents (3.7 percent) and 50 cents (3.3 percent) to $22.50 and $15.50 respectively.

Belco traded 136 shares, while 5,000 KeyTech shares changed hands.

Butterfield Bank had a less productive day, as their share value slumped by 25 cents (0.4 percent) down to $63.25 after trading 28,884 shares.

Overall the Index climbed up 13.29 points (0.25 percent) to close at 5,316.62, with 32,020 shares traded and a turnover of $1,785,458.20.

In contrast the BSX Insurance Index dropped to finish at 1,197.93, down 0.65 percent.
