A Hamilton Parish man is serving time in jail after entering a couple's home and stealing a quantity of jewellery.

Stacy Reno Simpson, 22, of Fishermans Hill, confessed to the burglary that took place on August 15 at an Abott's Cliff residence.

The home owners were awaken at 6 a.m. to the sound of two men knocking at the door.

They were then taken from their home for undisclosed reasons, and returned an hour later to find that their jewellery box had been stolen, and a pillow case was missing from their bed.

Simpson was taken into Police custody and is due to appear back in court on October 12.
