Only a matter of timeAugust 28, 2007Dear Sir,

Only a matter of time

August 28, 2007

Dear Sir,

I would like to ask my fellow Bermudians if they think it is possible for a car to cover the length of Woodbourne Avenue at 5.10 p.m., on a Monday evening, in 5 seconds. Well, it can be done as I experienced with my own eyes. The "lunatic" (being kind) driving a gold Peugeot had to be doing at least 50 mph, swerving two cars and causing a father and his two kids to grind to a halt, halfway across the crosswalk. Needless to say, that street is one of the busiest, as parents finishing work are collecting their young ones from either Woodrose or Ace pre-school. Please slow down and enjoy the beauty that Bermuda has to offer.

P.s. Just once did I wish I possessed the powers that Damien had in the Omen, to ensure a safer Bermuda!

A note of thanks

Dear Sir,

I would like to say "Thank You" to Mr. Scott Carmilani of Allied World Assurance Co. and his young staff for the great job they did on Purvis Park by painting 23 units in nine hours. It was 'hot' and they never stopped till they finished. That job would take a week for some painters! Thank you.

We will return

July 24, 2007

To All at The Royal Gazette: We have just returned from a seven day trip to Bermuda. We were fortunate to be able to stay at the beautiful St. George's Club. We dined, drank, shopped and explored. What a treat for us to find EGMONT's on York Street in St. George's. June and Roseanne are such lovely representatives for your wonderful Bermuda. Our first trip, but we hope to return.
