Ewart Brown has conceded he misquoted a news article in which he claimed business leader Charles Gosling had said the Premier was a "fantastic man".

In actual fact Mr. Gosling had described Dr. Brown as "a fascinating character".

Asked if Dr. Brown was retracting the comments, made in a speech to Progressive Labour Party supporters recently, the Premier's Press Secretary Glenn Jones told The Royal Gazette: "Yes he is. Also the Premier made a personal call to Mr. Gosling earlier this week to apologise for misquoting him."
