Romaine and Leverock nominated

Bermuda's captain Irving Romaine and Dwayne Leverock are two of the 18 players nominated for the 2007 Associate One-Day International (ODI) Player of the Year honour, for this year's ICC Awards ceremony.

The Associate ODI Player of the Year Award serves to recognise and reward the efforts of outstanding cricketers from six countries outside the ICC Full Members - Bermuda, Canada, Ireland, Kenya, the Netherlands and Scotland.

Awards will be presented at the fourth annual ICC Awards, in relation to FICA (Federation of International Cricketers' Associations).

Nominees will be reduced to a shortlist on or around September 4.

This year's event is set to take place in Johannesburg on September 10 - the day before the opening match of the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 tournament.

The list of nominees are: Ashish Bagai (Canada), Andre Botha (Ireland), John Davison (Canada), Trent Johnston (Ireland), Dwayne Leverock (Bermuda), Kyle McCallan (Ireland), Tanmay Mishra (Kenya), Eoin Morgan (Ireland), Ashif Mulla (Canada), Niall O'Brien (Ireland), Thomas Odoyo (Kenya), Peter Ongondo (Kenya), Irving Romaine (Bermuda), Abdool Samad (Canada), Ryan Ten Doeschate (Netherlands), Steve Tikolo (Kenya), Hiren Varaiya (Kenya) and Ryan Watson (Scotland).
