Capital G makes generous donation to Sunshine League
Capital G Bank presented a cheque for $9,502 to The Sunshine League from funds raised during the bank's Holiday Giving Back Programme.
Capital G staff, friends and customers were encouraged to donate a dollar amount of their choosing into a Capital G Bank account in aid of The Sunshine League.
Staff and customers donated $4,502 dollars. Capital G contributed $5,000 dollars to the account for a total of $9,502 which will be used to support the various programmes established by the Sunshine League.
Sunshine League executive director Denise Carey said: "We are grateful for Capital G and the community's generosity. Thank you again to Capital G for thinking of us at this time of year."
Capital G Bank chairman James Gibbons added: "Capital G is committed to giving back to the community and choosing The Sunshine League to be the recipient was an easy decision."
"We believe that all children should have the opportunity to succeed. The holiday season is a time for giving and who better to give to, than young deserving children," Mr. Gibbons added.
The Sunshine League is a Residential Care Facility for children between the ages of eight and 16 years who have been displaced for a variety of reasons.
"It is our desire that the residents that pass through the doors of the Sunshine League will feel loved and cared for each day. The aim of the Sunshine League is to help children develop good life skills and values that they can draw on throughout their life," a statement from the League said.
