Women accused of stealing $140,000

Two women have been charged with stealing more than a $140,000 from Bermuda Telephone Company.Jacqueline Laidlow, 66, of Swansville Drive, Warwick, and Yvonne Simmons, 43, of Upland Street, Devonshire, were not required to enter a plea at Magistrates' Court yesterday.The women were charged with conspiring to defraud BTC between January 1 1990 and April 2005 and stealing $140,371 from the company between March 31 and May 1 2005.

Jacqueline Laidlow, 66, of Swansville Drive, Warwick, and Yvonne Simmons, 43, of Upland Street, Devonshire, were not required to enter a plea at Magistrates' Court yesterday.
The women were charged with conspiring to defraud BTC between January 1 1990 and April 2005 and stealing $140,371 from the company between March 31 and May 1 2005.
They were granted $5,000 bail with one surety and will return to Magistrates' Court on January 7.
