Plane diverts due to woman's asthma attack

A female passenger aboard a US AIrways flight en route from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Philadelphia, suffered an asthma attack, causing the plane to be diverted to Bermuda.

Police received a report of the medical emergency at 9.05 p.m. on Saturday.

The 60-year-old American woman had received medical assistance during the flight.

She was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, where she was subsequently released.

The plane continued on its journey to the United States shortly after the victim disembarked.
