Police this morning arrested a man after a short chase over a traffic offence — and found he had a loaded gun.

At 2.50 a.m. today officers were on patrol in the Marsh Folly Road, Pembroke, area when they pursued a motorcyclist in connection with the traffic offence.

A Police spokesman said: “The rider lost control of the cycle near Rambling Lane but was not injured. The Police officers pursued the rider on foot and arrested him after a brief chase.

“The rider, a 30 year old Devonshire man, was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm.”
