Bermuda’s Intercontinental Cup clash with Kenya ended in eight-wicket defeat in Nairobi today as the hosts, chasing 79 runs for victory when play resumed this morning, reached their target in only 21 overs on the fourth and final day at Gymkhana Cricket Club.

Maurice Ouma (63) and David Obuya (70) each scored half- centuries and shared in a 107-run opening stand that gave the Kenyans full control after the Islanders wasted the new ball.

Only youngsters Rodney Trott (one for 36) and Malachi Jones (one for 22) had success with the ball as the Kenyans knocked off the remaining runs for victory with Ouma and Obuya leading the charge.

After trailing Kenya by 21 runs in the first innings Bermuda’s batsmen failed miserably in the second with only David Hemp (68 not out), Malachi Jones (21) and tailender Kevin Hurdle (30) getting among the runs
