FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3: Dozens of people, both disabled and able-bodied, gathered in Par-la-Ville Park at lunchtime to mark the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The occasion was marked with songs, poetry and rousing speeches on how Bermuda needs to become a more inclusive society.
The theme for the day was ‘Celebrate the Face of Inclusion’.
Health Minister Zane DeSilva told those assembled:?“There are perceptions in our Country regarding a person with a disability and these persons are labelled in a manner that does not do justice to their abilities.”
