Government today quashed rumours that the Causeway would be closing at 4 p.m. as galeforce winds have now subsided and a gale warning has ended for Bermuda.
A Government spokesperson said there was still a Small Craft Warning in effect, accounting for west to northwest winds of 20 to 30 knots. There may be higher gusts of more than 45 knots.
Higher gusts will be noted in showers, especially at elevated and exposed locations, but nothing in excess of 45 knots.
The spokesperson adedd: “As and whenever necessary, Government’s Department of Communication and Information will inform the public of any safety precautions regarding the Causeway.”
