Two women were confronted by three men — one possibly armed — after they broke into their home.

The incident happened at 4 p.m. yesterday at a home in Devonshire.

A Police spokesman said this afternoon: “Details about what occurred are unclear at the moment, however it appears three unknown men gained entry into the home where two female occupants were present.

“One of the female complainants reported seeing what she believed to be a firearm. The three burglars then made good their escape with the women’s handbags.”

So far this year there have been 14 confirmed incidents involving the use of firearms in Bermuda.
