Wade's family tragedy

Harrisburg Heat star Meshach Wade is unlikely to play for the side again this season after returning to Bermuda following the death of his sister.

Lynell Wade Dowling (32) passed away recently and the defender was allowed home on compassionate grounds.

A spokesman for the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) club, for whom fellow Bermudian David Bascome plays, said Wade was "expected to remain in his native Bermuda indefinitely".

"His return to the Heat this season now appears unlikely," he said.

The 28-year old, once a member of the Bermuda national team, had scored four points and blocked 17 shots in nine games this season. In 72 games since arriving in Harrisburg prior to the 1999/2000 season, Wade scored 16 goals and 49 points and blocked 87 shots.

Harrisburg travel to Philadelphia to face the KiXX today.
