Jay makes it six in a row
Jay Donawa claimed his sixth straight National Cross-Country crown with a comfortable victory at Astwood Park on Saturday.
The 33-year-old ? who is dedicating the remainder of his running season to recently-deceased sports legend and former sponsor Frankie Brewster ? beat brother Michael by more than three minutes over the 7.5 mile course, finishing in 41 minutes 25.86 seconds.
Michael finished in 44:48.96 while Michael Neville came in third in 48:51.48.
Donawa is now hoping to be considered for the NACAC (North and Central American and Caribbean) Cross-Country Championships next March in Orlando, Florida, as well as April?s World Cross-Country Championships in Japan.
Lynn Patchett won the ladies? race by more than seven minutes, finishing the five mile course in 34:43.32, ahead of Cindy Wilkes (42:17.70) and Rachael Rothwell (48:32.52).
