Two goals either side of the break from Chevonne Furbert and another second-half strike by Sakena Clarke saw Rude Girls clinch an unprecedented seventh Konica Cup crown with this 3-0 win over Dandy Stars at Wellington Oval yesterday.

After Furbert had given Rude Girls an 11th minute lead, Vance Brown's ladies missed out on several chances to sweep their opponents off the pitch and only had the one tally to show for their efforts at the break.

But it was a completely different story in the second half as Rude Girls dominated proceedings.

Following the match, coach Brown said his team had still failed to play to their full potential.

"We played OK. We didn't play to our full potential but we still got the desired result and that's what really matters in cup finals," he said.

"We really didn't stick to our game plan in the first half but once we came in at half-time we talked about it and went back out there and finished the business.

"So in the end I'm happy for the win and also for the girls."

Visibly dejected, Dandy Stars' coach Maxwell Dill said that several early missed opportunities had come back to haunt his team.

"I felt that we had more chances in the first half and if we had converted them the game would have turned out very different," Dill explained.
