Goater happy with new boss
Shaun Goater believes Steve Coppell's homework enabled the new Reading boss to get off to a winning start.
Reading beat Gillingham 2-1 in midweek in Coppell's first match in charge since taking over from Alan Pardew.
They now take on Preston today in another Division One clash and Bermudian striker Goater is hoping the winning ways will continue.
"The things that Steve told us before the Gillingham game - specifically about the opposition - just seemed so right," he said. "During the match I found myself thinking that's exactly right. For example, this player or that area was where we could attack them.
"Even at half-time he told us the right things and I feel that came out in our second-half play. Let's hope that continues against Preston and beyond."
