?We?re ready? insists skipper

Despite the absence of injured professionals Shaun Goater and Kyle Lightbourne national team skipper Kentoine Jennings remains upbeat over the Island?s chances of advancing to the next round of the World Cup.

Bermuda need a 1-0 win over the visiting Salvadoreans tomorrow in order to advance to the third round of qualifying, and team leader Jennings is confident they can achieve that goal.

?We have played in many games without them (Goater and Lightbourne). And we have always prepared other players to play in their roles because you just never know what can happen,? Jennings explained, adding: ?We never knew if Shaun was ever going to be available or even Kyle for that matter.

?But we have other players who are prepared to come in and take over that responsibility whenever called upon. They (Goater and Lightbourne) are going to be a miss, but I think everybody is up for the challenge.?

One player expected to shoulder much of the load in the pair?s absence is the captain?s former Hereford team-mate Meshach Wade.

?Meshach is the type of player who can really make a big difference in the midfield,? said Jennings. ?He was a little bit of miss down there (in San Salvador). But he?s up for it and he will be very helpful in the midfield where it is very important to have a player that can play in that position and take full command.?

Jennings said he and his team-mates were particularly looking forward to playing on home turf.

?We are very comfortable playing at home ? it certainly gives us extra incentive to do well. We are all confident and excited.

?It?s just a matter of us getting mentally prepared because we are already physically fit. Everybody is in good spirits and looking forward to the game.?
