Domico Coddington has taken up residence at a new home away from home.

The 21-year-old Devonshire Cougars midfielder, a vital cog in the Big Cats? Premier Division and Friendship Trophy success last season, has signed with relocated Canadian Professional Soccer League (CPSL) club Oakville Blue Devils for the summer months.

Last season saw the Bermudian represent CPSL Eastern Conference side Durham Storm.

Coddington arrived in Toronto last Friday and took part in two practice matches before joining Bermuda?s national team in Trinidad earlier this week.

The Blue Devils, the first ever professional team to represent Oakville in the CPSL, were previously known as the Metro Lions and are now situated just west of Toronto.

?I?m just trying to adjust to my new surroundings and play with my new team-mates,? said Coddington, speaking from his hotel room in Trinidad yesterday.

The Western Conference Blue Devils will host Brampton Stallions at Bronte Stadium on June 2.

Meanwhile, Coddington shone brightly in midfield during Bermuda?s 4-0 loss against Trinidad on Wednesday night and remains among the favourites to walk away with two of the top individual awards during Bermuda Football Association?s annual prize ceremony tomorrow night at the National Sports Centre.

Speaking about Wednesday night?s loss, Coddington noted: ?I thought the team did pretty well. It was the first time for a lot of the players representing their country. And I thought the new players who came into the team did fairly good.

?But I also thought I could have done a bit better. It was a bit difficult playing the role I was asked to . . . getting back and forward. But overall I think we did okay.?

Trinidad led 1-0 at the half before hitting the back of the net on three further occasions after the restart.

?We held out for the first five or ten minutes of the second-half. But conditions were very humid,? Coddington added.

The player is due to see action tonight when Bermuda close out their two-match tour against the host country before returning to Toronto on Saturday.

As for tomorrow night?s BFA awards ceremony, Coddington commented: ?We had a big season at Cougars and made history for ourselves. And to now be in the running for two of the top awards (Most Valuable Player and Young Player of the Year Awards) just feels good. I would have loved to be present for the ceremony, but hopefully I?ll win.

?It was probably my best season ever although I had won Premier Division titles and trophies before with North Village. I played a major role with Cougars last season.

?Our team went through a lot of trials and tribulations during season and it forced the whole team to stand up . . . not just myself. And it was just a really good season for us and we deserved our championships.?

Coddington is scheduled to rejoin the Blue Devils in time for another pre-season practice match on Sunday.

Last summer saw the Bermudian struggle with Eastern Conference side Durham Storm who completed the season with a disappointing 2-17 record.
